The Unknown Land
Prologue
The wind ruffled my fur as I walked along the narrow path. Then I abruptly stopped. Something stood in my way. But what was it? I stepped closer cautiously. Then the shape became clearer. It was a girl with cat features. “Who are you? And why are you on my territory?” I stood there, frozen to the ground. “Well, are you going to answer?” She said. I swallowed hard then took a step forward. “Get out of my way” I said. “Or you will regret it.” The girl stared at me eyes full of hatred. But she didn’t move.
She spoke up finally and said “You think you could beat me? Ha! You’re a fool!” I charged at her at full speed. And when I made contacted I knocked her to the ground which took her breath away. When she regained her breath she was shocked. “You’re one of us?” She said. “Who are you?” I stood up. “I am Nightstar, leader of NightClan!” She stared in awe. “Nightstar, is it really you?” I stared at her thinking. How does she know me? I shook the feeling away then started to speak. “Who are you? I said. She hesitated then spoke up. “Don’t you recognize me? It’s me, Leopardcloud, I was one of your Clanmates.”
I thought for a second then I remembered her. “Oh yeah! You were that one that never listened!” She puffed out her chest and bushed her tail. “Hey!” She exclaimed. “I did to listen! Anyway, why did you leave? Everyone thought you were dead!” I thought for a moment. Can I trust her? I thought. “I…..I wanted a mate but as leader I couldn’t have one. I found this one guy and he said he was looking for a mate. And he saved my life. I said I wanted to travel with him. But, we got separated.” Then she replied. “Well then, I’ll help you find him!”
“Really? Thank you so much!” I exclaimed as I jumped up a bit with excitement. “Well, let’s go!” Leopardcloud said. And then we set off.
Chapter 1
Sunlight drifted through the trees painting the forest floor red. I arose from my bed of moss to find that Leopardcloud was gone. “I knew it; she’s left to tell the Clan.” I thought. Just then the bushes started rustling. “Who’s there?” I said. No answer. “Who’s there?” I repeated. Just then Leopardcloud appeared with her mouth full of prey.
